The StarCam™ FW-3 is an advanced 3D digital imaging system with 3D spatial measurement capabilities that rival the accuracy of laser systems, at a fraction of the cost. The StarCam™ FW-3 provides rapid capture and processing of 3D digital images, supports color imaging in studio or field environments, and has a multi-camera configuration for full 360° imaging.

Self-calibrating IOR for maximum consistent accuracy
The StarCam™ FW-3's Internal Optical Reference system, or IOR, is a globally patented self-calibration mechanism for high accuracy even at distances, as well as accuracy and consistency over time and conditions. As a result, the IOR ensures dramatically lower system maintenance time (calibrating at up to 30 times per second) and cost than any comparable system available today.
Industry leading acquisition speed
Using a dot projection pattern, the FW-3 is able to quickly and accurately measure thousands of points in less than a second. Even high density surface capture is possible in seconds, making it possible to accomplish your digitizing tasks quickly and effectively.
Astonishing 3D image quality and spatial measurement accuracy
The technology underlying the StarCam™ products, their use of projected dots rather than lines (for studio applications), and the IOR mentioned above, all work together to give the StarCam™ FW-3 an astonishing level of 3D image quality and measurement accuracy.
The StarCam™ FW-3 supports measurements within 3D images, including point-to-point distance, volume and geometries (such as angles or degrees of curvatures), with a tremendous degree of precision.
Suitability for studio or field environments
The StarCam™ FW-3 is suited equally well for image capture up close in the studio, or at distances for field applications. And combined with its accuracy even at a distance, this makes the StarCam™ FW-3 an ideal choice for many applications in a broad range of industries.
Supports 360° color imaging
The StarCam™ FW-3 includes a color sensor and support for multi-camera configurations. The VX Technologies Software Suite's extensive image processing allows multiple surface images to be 'stitched' together. Together, these capabilities allow the StarCam™ FW-3 to capture and measure superior quality 360° 3D profiles in color, critical for medical and health care applications.
